India is ranked 122nd out of 155 countries in the World Happiness Report 2017, four notches below its previous rank of 118. The report was released from the United Nations at an event celebrating International Day of Happiness. The report takes into account the GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support and freedom to make life choices as indicators of happiness.

Self-confidence, according to Nathaniel Branden, author of many seminal works in this area, “is confidence in our ability to think, confidence in our ability to cope with the basic challenges of life, and confidence in our right to be successful and happy.”

According to a recent study, more than 50% of people shockingly said that they suffer from a lack of self-confidence. To make matters worse, only one out of three say that they’re currently happy with where they are in life.

Worldwide, nearly 30% of people say that they’re enthusiastic about going to work every day.

These statistics all point to one thing: most people seem at least somewhat unsatisfied with their lives.
